I enjoy this game a lot. The strategy element is well-balanced and a duel can turn on a dime. The pay model seems fair; pay-to-collect-quickly rather than pay-to-win. I miss the slow pace of a Hero Academy duel (where a game could take weeks but you could play many games simultaneously) but I can live without that. My one major gripe is that I can't play a practice game slowly (pick it up for ten minutes and then finish the game later) or offline. This would be a perfect time-killer on the tube if I could. All told, a well-designed sequel to an already-great game. Full Review

Edit: account recovered! Great game :) Was never able to properly register my account apparently . Then lost phone and can't recover account at all? Will update to 5* if my accounts gets recovered if not play at your own risks! Other than that, good game. Not enough rounds imo. Full Review

Overall really enjoying the new deck building aspect of the game. A few things I would like.... First would be the ability to mulligan your starting hand completely once without losing any cards, perhaps allow further mulligans but at the cost of 1 card each after the first free one. Also I think that it would be great if decks could be a little larger than 30 cards, maybe make deck building min 30 up to max 35 or 40, no more than that. This obviously allows a player to add more to thier decks with the negative of not having as reliable draws. Just a thought. I also think that you should make the pack you can buy with gold contain 5 cards. Thanks for reading. Full Review

The first hero academy was my favorite mobile game of all time. I have yet to find anything that compares. Hero academy 2 is such a disappointment.. so much changed; for the worst. $$$$.. hope it was worth it. I had so much faith in this company and was so excited when I heard they were making another. What a let down. I have lost faith in there ever being another game like the original hero academy; at least for a long time.. I've tried so many games, and nothing even comes close. Be prepared to be saddened if you were a fan of the first like I was. You will see the bad differences Immidiately. Full Review

Loved the original, but was not a fan of this one. They took a good game and then stuffed it full of grinding to milk money out of the players. I stuck with it for a couple weeks but just found it completely unenjoyable to go against opponent strategies and constantly have the thought in my head "is my strategy bad or am I just missing the counter to this because I haven't paid/gotten lucky?" Way over complicated compared to the original one. Real life money to get better cards to win instead of using skill. Minimal strategy required to win. Just spend money on better cards to swarm all your opponents. [Edit:] In game packs are rubbish. You don't even get enough to unlock the units featured in the practice campaign. Yeah the awesome units featured in the practice campaign are hidden behind a huge pay wall. Game was released in October 17 but went global in Jan 18. Duel Arena is in Season 6 now. If you're a new player, other players have a 3 month advantage over you in terms of units and farming. You won't stand a chance in Duel mode. Campaign mode? Nah, you have to pay to unlock the campaign lol. Really messed up game. Full Review

It's like (insert two of the most popular card games in print or mobile here) but with a game board where you move units around. Entirely lost the elegant simplicity of the original Hero Academy but is nonetheless a bold and promising move into the backyards of gaming giants. Full Review

I like it a lot and will be actively playing. However the starter packs for $5 and $20 are pretty damn useful if you want to be competitive. And they had streamer codes for free packs that expired which already makes falling behind. Other then some legendaries being basically set filler and being able to gef duplicate legendaries. The game is very fun when you get close to completing your build. Full Review

Pretty good but I think I preferred the first one. It's more challenging. Although you can buy IAP's you don't need to as there is plenty of room to collect cards, craft and you can exchange in game currency for new cards. Gameplay is challenging yet fun and strategic. Good job over all Full Review

Honestly with the art style, I didn't think I'd like it. But the gameplay has a lot more depth than I thought it would. It compares favorably to games like PvZ Heroes, and I've found myself turning to this before opening up Clash Royale. Overall a great addition to my competitive phone game lineupð Full Review

Words can't express how disappointed I am with this game as it is right now. Hero Academy 1 was my ALL TIME favorite vs game for mobile. I turned many of my friends and family onto it and we all loved going head to head in such a fun game. Now you take out the ability to play your friends? On top of that you remove the "play at your own pace" mechanic for "real time"? Life is busy and hectic.... Not everyone has time to sit and play a whole game at once, even if they are short. My Family, Friends and I have been greatly anticipating Hero Academy 2 and now we are all hugely disappointed. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE developers bring back the ability to play with your friends, and the multiple games/"play at your own pace" mechanic! Everything else in this game is solid so far as I can tell. Graphics are great. Variety in regards to the cards is cool. Ability to create your own deck is cool. However, my family, friends and I have not, and WILL not be diving deeper into this game unless they bring back a couple of key components that made the original such a fantastic game. Full Review

Great game. And I will say the tech staff was amazing for me. Lost my account forgot to register it and they helped me get it back. Took a few days which is really amazing that they would work that fast. Good gameplay and mechanics. If you haven't tried it yet I'd highly suggest giving it a try. Full Review

The 20 dollar pack doesn't even give you enough to unlock the full single player game. Are you serious? Why would I buy this over a full steam game that's better and cheaper? Blatantly overpriced Gave it a week of play. Insane balance issues. Not worth the time. It's fun until you run into or can use a few cards / powers. After that it's 3 turns win or concede. They took the formula that worked for the first game and added Hearthstone-esque card gathering/deck building to it. A variety of bugs hinder gameplay and connection issues cause loss of progress and matches. A let-down after the first, though it has room to grow. Now to see if it will. Full Review

So only after playing a couple hours, this game is right up my alley. I love turn based strategy. This game has a feel of hearthstone put into a final fantasy tactics gameplay. Maybe a touch of clash royal aspects. Regardless, nice job. Tbh i have ideas of how to create a sweet tactical gameplay, with rpg elements, recruiting various characters with random abilities even if of the same class. But one immediate fix i would like to see is this. If i move i can also attack in the same turn. But if i attack first, i cannot move to end that characters turn. This is a staple of tactical gaming so i would consider fixing that. More to come as i play. Full Review

Looks good and the gameplay is interesting, but it's chewed through 371MB of cell data and blown my data allowance since I installed it an hour ago. I haven't even played an online game, it's just tutorial and bot games so far. Also heated up my phone (pixel 1) too much. Full Review

This game is great. The only thing holding me back from actually investing in it is the art. The fonts and models are pretty elementary looking. If they want the Heartstone crowd, they need to step up the creativity a bit. The game could be epic, but it's beyond ugly. I'll stay f2p though. Thanks! Full Review

Like duelyst but better, but has a greedy card acquisition system right now. Crafting cards cost much more dust than in analagous games, and it has a TIMER that limits you to crafting one card at a time (this can take days). Worse even is that one pack is the obtuse price of 1500 gold and all gold packs are gimped and are only 3 cards instead of the typical 5. This is so bad that it makes buying packs feel like a waste of resources even though gold has LITERALLY no other use. The game is great fun though, making these terrible decisions all the more despiriting. Full Review

Basically everything about this game is a step backwards from the original. The art style, gameplay, and even the menus feel and look worse than the original. The game is heavily weighted towards whales and the F2P players will stand no chance. The game is basically Hearthstone but somehow feels more expensive and worse. I was a huge fan of the original and I waited over a year for this game to release and Robot has let me down. Full Review
