Feb 2018: HUGE improvement from my original 2014 review. Works flawlessly and I love that I can watch the Olympic events that I'm interested in, in their entirety. Great job, NBC team! Feb 2014: This app fails to open about 50% of the time. I would gladly pay money for an app that worked (especially if I could get around needing a paid TV subscription) but this one is just a big disappointment. Full Review

It's ok. Using it to watch the Olympics. Anything is better than what NBC airs on TV, so the bar is pretty low here. Freezing, force closing, randomly restarting events, and no option I've found to open app to a different page (to avoid the spoilers). Happy that they're including ALL (ok, almost all) TV providers, including streaming, instead of just the big, traditional ones. It's about time those credentials were accepted. Full Review

I use this to watch Olympic events. This is better than xfinity's x1 since it gives me highlights with times so you can jump right to what you want. X1 won't even fast forward so you have to watch the entire 2 to 2.5 hour event. I only wish my TV had this app available -- then i'd be very happy. Full Review

I love the idea of this app. The ability to watch old events as well as watch everything live is great. However the app crashes constantly and the ads are frequent and very badly timed. U understand that ads are a necessity but they play in the middle of events at very had times. While watching the snowboarding finals they played the same ad 7 times in a row with literally 19 seconds of snowboarding in between. Full Review

Trying to watch the Olympics on here is pretty frustrating. Even after trying to manually refresh the feed, a bunch of expired events pollute the list. The audio while Chromecasting is chronically out of sync and the stream is pretty low quality even on a 150mbps connection. But I suppose it's better than nothing. Full Review

Apparently no landscape support on smartphones. You have to view everything in a tiny screen that is a 3rd size of your phone. The commerical breaks are forever, if your try to rwd the commerical breaks are every 30 secs and last for 5mins. So rwd is not worth it. The app doesn't show the schedule of when certain programs you want to see come up. This app is awful. Full Review

Update: dropped rating a star since it continues to give push notifications even though I turned them off in the Setting. Seems to work better than the regular NBC app. No Android TV support, which is frustrating. I'm having to Chromecast instead, but would prefer direct TV integration. Full Review

I was very frustrated with how NBC spoiled all the events before they actually were displayed in the US. Also the commercials on their prime time coverage are so abundant that you barely even get any Olympic coverage. NBC has some serious work to do. They definitely negatively affected my Olympics experience. Full Review

This app has been good IF you have a provider subscription. For watching the Olympics, it's been good. However, why is there a commercial practically every minute? I understand between each set up of a new athlete but during an athlete is performing is ridiculous. Really need to give viewers space so they can enjoy the sport without frustration. Full Review

Removed because you have to have cable or satellite subscription to use for anything more than short clips! This includes events that aired on non-cable channels! If it aired on a channel you can watch without paying for, you should be able to watch those events without a subscription! Definitely NOT in the Olympic spirit, NBC! Full Review

I downloaded this app to see figure skating in Olympics. It has been pretty good. Lots of commercials. For some reason the programming from 2/18 is not available. No ice dance short program. So i guess I have to skip it and just go to free dance. Bummer. I'm hoping the ladies upcoming program won't have issues Full Review

App runs fine. I don't have cable tv and won't ever again. Makes this app have very limited usage other than watching highlights. You must have cable, direct, or dish, and login to really watch all the content. I did but many don't and that's a drag. Olympics should be for all to see!!! Inciting spirit and unity should be taken as a responsibility by networks, in our nation struggling with so many odds. The scheduling and reply content needs to be improved. Don't show it's accessible then tell me it's concluded! Full Review

The app keeps randomly closing while streaming. It just stops and crashes. (Internet and connection not a problem) It also is much less intuitive than it used to be. Last Olympic games were much easier to find what you were looking for. Lastly, there are random commercials during non-primetime live streaming videos. It will be in the middle of a snowboard run or a performance and then you just miss it. Lots of issues! Full Review

This app worked great for a few days. I'm not sure if it was the update, but now it freezes the casted screen (both Vizio tv and Chromecast ultra) randomly. I have to turn off and on the TV or unplug and replug the ccu in order to use anything on the casted screen after a freeze. Sometimes happens in a few secs or sometimes 10 min. Plus the adds are not synced with breaks during the events and I missed the gold medal run. Full Review

I am very disappointed that you can't live stream or even watch replays unless you have a paid subscription to a cable network. Constant commercial interruptions in the middle of Olympic events. They're random, nonsensical, and completely annoying. I don't mind commercials in between the performances and runs of the athletes, but it is insane that they interrupt the middle of the athletes' performances with commercials. I'm already paying for the cable service, I don't think I should have to sit through all these unnecessary commercials. And whenever I try to go back and rewatch something or skip forward they force even more commercials on me. NBC get rid of all these annoying commercials on your app or you're not going to have any viewers after the Olympics. Full Review

Works fine most of the time, occasional dropping and having to restart the app on my Pixel 2. This app is years behind in functionality. There's no 30 sec back capability, and if the app crashes - and it will - it doesn't save your place. There are no chapters in replays to make it easier to find a specific quarter in a game, or sport during an Olympic telecast. It does have chromecast compatibility, which is something. As soon as the Olympics are over I'm deleting it. I'd only use it if I had to. Full Review
