The ultimate Western action RPG has arrived on Android! Embark on an epic dark fantasy in the grand tradition of great, story-driven RPGs from PC and console, created by veterans of the Neverwinter Nights, Baldur’s Gate, and The Witcher franchises.

With The Shadow Sun, Ossian Studios brings together all its expertise from working with Dungeons & Dragons and The Witcher in order to create a deep, story-driven RPG experience for Android. Prepare yourself for visceral real-time combat, a gorgeously detailed world to adventure in, complex characters to interact with, and an epic tale of an ancient city held within the grip of a mysterious plague.

Enter a world that has felt an alien touch upon its sun. An ever-increasing shadow that creeps across the sun's brilliant face, with consequences that are only now becoming horrifically apparent...

HOURS OF ADVENTURE

• Explore over 70 unique areas and uncover 200+ unique items, hidden secrets, and ancient treasures.
• A handy journal tracks your quests and a detailed codex notes new characters, places, and creatures you encounter.
• An original orchestral soundtrack and amazing soundscape will immerse you into this dark fantasy world.

TRUE ROLE-PLAYING

• Choose from among 30 attacks, spells, and skills to suit your favourite play style, and develop those abilities exactly how you want as the game progresses.
• Solve quests in multiple ways and have new NPC dialogue options open up depending on your skills.
• Ally with one of four companions to adventure alongside you, each with their own personality and abilities, and win their friendship or suffer their disapproval depending on your choices.
• Adopt a faithful dog companion to fight by your side.

* In-app purchases are purely optional! *
The 3 starter packs are optional DLC that have extra content and quests, none of which are required to enjoy the game. The in-depth hint guide also provides a full walkthrough and gameplay tips, along with details on companions, secrets, monsters, and other helpful information.

Enable cloud saves The game is great and huge with lots of things to do and interesting conversations. It is definitely worth the price. However, having just changed phones, I realised it does not have cloud saves. As I had progressed quite far, I would have loved to start where I was on the previous phone. Yet I have start all over again. So please give the players an option to save their progress online. It will be more than welcome. :) Full Review

Nice game but no controller support. Looks nice, has decent if generic RPG elements and makes for a good mobile game. However it desperately needs controller support for people who use Android consoles or controller attachments. Most big games support controllers (GTA series, Ravensword, Quake etc.) so this is an oversight on the developers' part and the reason I rated it only 3 stars. What's the point in making a good game if you're going to gimp it with touch controls? Full Review

This is a mobile game? It was such a blast that it got me away from my computer. Excellent pacing, balanced character development, story, originality. It's hard to believe this game isn't for the pc (coming from a die hard pc fanboy). The only flaw is that there's no controller support. Excluding the lack of controller support the Shadow Sun is a perfect game, better than KOTOR, and I highly recommend it. Full Review

Wears its influences proudly A very good born-mobile game in the tradition of Neverwinter Nights or Knights of the Old Republic, but with a unique (Dark-Sun-inflected) fantasy setting. The score is fantastic, the writing fine, and the character customization a nice balance of old-school detail with few enough options to make most skills seem distinct and worthwhile. Combat is passable but not too annoying. Very enjoyable overall package. Full Review

Really fun, immersive RPG Easily one of the best RPGs I've played on Android to date. Lots of enemies, locations, loot, npcs... if you're like me and take your time to see and do everything, there's much more than 10 hrs of gameplay here. Ive got 5 hrs in now, and I've barely scratched the surface. Plus it runs without a hitch, no hiccups or crashes yet, with all settings maxed on a Galaxy S4. Definitely worth the price, and the DLC is a great deal too. Full Review

I LOVE this game, can you pls and more stuff to the warrior starter pack because theirs no exclusive weapon to start out with. Took me about 11 hours to complete almost all quests, all secrets, and 20 out of 30 achievements, not including the long starter pack quests. I liked the game more without the starter packs to be honest. Full Review

runs really smooth for a quite demanding game. one of the best rpg I've played for Android platform. well done developers. should add more customizations options. *edit: would have given 5/5 but currently stuck in the sewer because keep dying of poison and not having antidote. Everytime the game loads the poison stats still there. can't progress Full Review

I am going to be honest Okay imma be honest. I pirated this game once. After playing it few hours i got into it so bad. Graphics are amazing, storyline is interesting, quests and areas are cool and really feels like a goddamn rpg. I felt so shamed of pirating this wonderful game so ai bought it couple of times just to support devs. Shadow of the sun is definetly TOP 3 RPG GAMES FOR ANDROID. Thanks Full Review

Great game Great graphics and it runs smoothly it truly is a great game and well worth the dollar. The developers are are helpful and attentive and the game is really impressive.. If you're a fan of this genre buy this and if your device can handle maxed out graphic setting you will be even more amazed at what they squeezed into this 480mb app. Full Review

Classic RPG on Android I am really enjoying this game. So far this is the best RPG experience I've had on Android. I wish you guys would release more games like this. This is a true bargain for such an excellent game. Great graphics, a wonderful story, and controls have been well adapted for mobile. Only thing missing is cloud save. Full Review

Awesome game 🎮 This is an amazing game. I opened to play it not expecting much despite the reviews, but found myself an hour and half in and not wanting to put it down. What a gem of a game. The only gripe I have is that the controls are a bit on the finicky side, but not a game killer - that is they just take a bit to get used to. Well worth the 2.99 asking price. I purchased it through the Google opinion rewards, so not a big deal and once again, well worth it. Good job developer! Full Review

The Best This is, by far, the best RPG I have found on Android. It's a REAL PC-Style RPG. Be wary. You'll start playing and won't stop. I hope you guys make more games like this. I absolutely loved it! I didn't want it to end! I need more! Full Review

A few bugs but great This is a great game & one of those rare console experiences on a mobile device; great for when you're on the go & get a random craving for some console style RPG fun. Want to give it 5* & really is better than most, but the controls can be weird (to be expected on mobile) & more importantly sometimes the world map screens either misregister taps or don't at all. However, one the map extends i get kicked out and now can not play. Also the mission were you help this woman try to cure the disease i can not finish because i get kicked out of the game. I really need help please ! Full Review

Controls Issue Could you allow us to place the controls/portraits on the screento our preferences? If so, I'll change my review because this is a great game, the combat reminds me of Dark Souls. Which is why I set the difficulty all the way up. Full Review

Play Store needs more like this. There are far too many cookie cutter cash-grabs out there. Mobile platform needs more titles like this. I do have two gripes, tho: I would like to see continuable gameplay after the main story is complete. I beat it in a little over 6 hours and when I realized I couldnt go back and finish some side quests, I was quite disappointed. Also, the game seemed linear. Yes, we could bounce around from spot to spot, but once an area was cleared theres no respawn. Full Review

A++ Still playing, but so far it is a great game. Care went into the story. For me, it puts Ravensword to shame. Ravensword is pretty, yes. However, it remains s hollow game that is devoid of any real character or feeling. Big thumbs up. It is fantastic. Full Review

Can't believe I paid for this. Its Not good. Attacks feel terrible and are delayed, loading screens and fade to blacks are tedious, story is not interesting in the slightest and visuals are unimpressive.sound effects somtines are straight up missing. It's a Nice effort but a poor execution. I won't be able to get my money back for this and that's upsetting this game had promise but it falls extremely flat. Full Review

Classic Done Almost Right!!! The game's pretty good. It's simple, and nicely done. It's a pretty good game...however, I'm bummed as to how short the game is. The final product feels rushed and underdeveloped. I really hope a good remake or sequel of this comes along soon, because other than that, it was awesome. Full Review

Terrific I just bought this game cos it's my kind of genre, lets just say since buying it I haven't stopped playing it. The game is terrific and it doesn't cost a fortune, its great to see a top game amidst all the sub standard game's in the store, anyone checking this out don't be put off by the iap's,you do not have to buy them to proceed with the game ,they are little bonuses if you want them, just pay the low price for a great game and have a blast, great work devs. Full Review

Arguably Better than Aralon sequel, and almost as good as Ravenswood. My only complaints are, some random swear words, and the ten hour claim, (I finished just shy from 6) Other than that, the story is great, and the graphics look nice, while running perfectly smooth (scene load times are also pretty fast). Looking forward to a part 2! O yeah, and not one crash!!!! Full Review

Outstanding In the spirit of the Elder Scrolls- I loved that I wasn't limited by a class system; I was able to make my own! That was probably my favorite thing about the game. I could cast spells and still pick locks and focus on my combat skills. Just awesome really. Funniest part-when the lady claims her husband is faking having the plague to get out of work! To funny. 😂. Poor Kevin got locked up in the Oblong. My only criticism is that it was to short!! I didn't want it to end. Thanks and excellent job! Full Review

GET THIS GAME. Read my review! I was bored one night and had .99cents to spend and decided to get this game...little did I know that I was bout get such a well done, fun, hilarious, somewhat long game. Not only did it supply me hours of great gameplay...it ran perfect on my phone. Never experienced a single crash in over 10 hours of play!! That's unheard of..even games smaller and less in-depth crash more often! GET THIS GAME! You won't regret it..its a dollar well spent! Full Review

One of the best RPGs you can buy for Android. It's from the company who made Mysteries of Westgame expansion for Neverwinter Nights 2, and The Shadow Sun is a great RPG you should get if you want to get close to PC cRPGs on your phone. The music and story are great, and the combat is fun and refreshing, although hard at times (at least when I played as a mage with most of my points in persuasion skills). Full Review

The shadow sun provides a great story that is well written and moves at good pace. There are plenty of side quest as well and decent customization options too.
